Small rosette heads 4 1/2" wide, outer leaves are smooth and dark green.  This butterhead variety is longstanding, slow-bolting, bibb type with considearble heat resistance.  Can be started indoors and transplanted or direct sown.  Requires a rich, well drained soil, keep continually moist during the growing season.  Root systems develop best when planted in Spring.  Successive plantings every two weeks till fall for a continuous supply.  Pick when heads are full.  Good source of Vitamin A & C.
